About this website
This is the personal blog of Johannes Brodwall where I write about programming in Java, JavaScript, C# and about Agile Software development. I try to think inside a bigger box
Who am I?
- My salary gets paid by Sopra Steria, Norway’s largest IT consultancy. I’m called a “principal software engineer” so I try and teach my colleagues and our customers what I know about good coding, good software projects and DevOps. I call out my employer when I feel it’s called for
- I spend most days working for the Norwegian Police where I write code that helps keep our society safe
- I spend about 1/2 day per week teaching students at Kristiania University College how to become programmers with frontend, backend and GIS technology
I’m part of the Norwegian professional community:
- I’m in the board of Tekna’s network group for developers
- I’m involved in the Norwegian Computing Association
- I’m giving talks at conferences and meetups in Norway
I also have a personal life:
- I’m member of the Norwegian Green Party where I serve on a committee in my borough of Oslo and am part of the party’s working committee on AI politics 💚🤖
- I’m treasurer in the marching band for my kids’ school. Turns out that a marching band has more complex accounting than you’d think 💰😅
- I like to take my kids skiing and biking. My goal for 2024 is 200 days on the bike 🚲
